Roberta started Vanderslice Media in after noticing that many authors and business people lack the media skills to achieve the success they desire. Her seminars and one-on-one coaching teach clients to effectively sell themselves and their books or products--without hype-- on TV, radio, print, and online.

Beginning her career as an overnight newsperson in Tucson, Arizona, Roberta has gone on to host radio shows in New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Atlanta, Miami, Baltimore, Phoenix, and Cleveland. She was heard nationwide hosting shows for Westwood One Radio Networks and the ABC Radio Networks and has written for national program providers "All Star Radio." Roberta was named one of the "100 Most Important Talk Show Hosts" and "Frontier Fifty" Web Hosts by leading trade magazine "Talkers" and won several reporting awards from the Associated Press.

Over the past several decades, she's interviewed thousands of people, from the world of politics, sports and entertainment, including Whoopi Goldberg, Nancy Reagan, Jesse Jackson, Cher, The Ramones, author Tom Clancy, Senator Frank Lautenberg, The band Kiss, Dave Barry, Joe Walsh, Bob Golic, and Jim Belushi.

"Everything I've done in my life--from my first job at 14 as a carhop to hosting a nationally syndicated talk show--has involved dealing with people from all walks of life. I've always been a people person-- and I've never failed to find out something fascinating about anyone I've ever met."

Roberta has been featured on The Maury Povich Show, Lou Dobbs Tonight, and many others. She's been the subject of stories in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Miami Herald, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Arizona Daily Star, and numerous television programs.

An award-winning writer and poet, Roberta has written for  Radio and Records, The Baltimore Sun, The Arizona Republic, The Jewish Post, The Tucson Citizen, The Publishers Marketing Association, The Nonprofit Communications Report, and The Self-Published Authors magazine and is a contributing writer for several broadcasting trade magazines. She has also written for a number of national broadcast program providers.

Roberta’s professional expertise also extends to television production, news reporting, newspaper and magazine editing, copywriting, social media content production and marketing, acting, singing, and stand-up comedy.

Roberta holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Radio-TV and Journalism from the University of Arizona, and a certificate in Environmental Studies from Johns Hopkins University. She has also studied creative writing, acting, and improvisation for many years.

"Working both behind the scenes and in the spotlight, being interviewed and doing the interviewing, has given me a tremendous edge when it comes to helping my clients understand how to skillfully express themselves using the specific language of each media, be it television, radio, print or online."

Roberta’s clients include the National Capital Barbecue Battle, one of Washington D.C.'s premier events, which brings 100,000 people to a mile-long stretch of Pennsylvania Ave. each year.

She also loves sharing her knowledge with students of all ages as multimedia consultant for student media at Pima College in Arizona.

An avid lover and protector of animals, Roberta has lent her media and event creation and coordination skills to many animal rescue groups and events around the country, including Midnight Muttness in Tucson and Moonlight Muttness in Phoenix, both of which set records as the state's most successful adoption events.
